Lol, im more then happy to be patient but only if I have some sort of reasurance that things may get better :p I dont want to go through all the agro of cycling then be left with a scummy looking tank to sort out :)

Lol *Cries* thats why I signed up here, to have support :p Lol, but thanks for your help.

I've got the same at the minute going through fishless cycling. I think someone suggest that it would be Planeria or something similar that feed off the high ammonia in the water. Wonder if you've got the same?

They said that cos some of the white specs seem to swim and move about the glass.

I've also was using the filter wool and even replaced one after a few weeks as it was black but that didn't solve it.

Well atleast im not the only one suffering, although i am a little more confussed as some how 1 small pinch of food has generated all this? Uff

Sorry - no idea on the specks. I never had that when fishless cycling, even though I also had an internal filter at that time.

Just a thought on the cycling though - I'd get it going with ammonia if I were you. It takes a while, so the sooner you start the sooner you finish, etc. Also, most people end up with a really scummy tank at the end of fishless cycling so don't worry about that. You just have to do a massive water change (90% or so) and then refill with fresh dechlorinated water. Even if you still have a problem at that time, at least the tank is cycled - and you an keep it that way indefinitely by feeding with ammonia and carrying out water changes.

Hope you find the cause!

Irf.

Everyone's been great, thanks guys, ill work on it :)

I agree with Irf. Get you some ammonia and start adding soon. Thats what makes your cycle run. Don't worry about the specs. Your tank is going to be a hot mess while the cycle process does its thing. When your cycle is done, you will do a massive Water Change and things will clean right up. :good:
