I had to post this one... I'm conditioning my CT pair, and my male has told me the only way he knows how that he's had enough of being overfed and wants to get at the girl... he built a little bubblenest on the side of his tank and when I fed him you know what he did? POKED THE HIKARI PELLETS INTO THE BUBBLENEST. I'm serious... it was so funny! :hyper:

Oh that is funny. My bettas just flare a lot and dance for me when I look at them. Nothing extra cool. Sometimes they jump a little to get the food.

Oliver LOVES watching people. Absolutely loves it. Whenever I sit near the tank, or any of my friends or roommates do, he swims over as fast as he can and just hovers while facing you. It's so cute. :)

The little HM male I got on ebay is a tenacious little booger.. he will flare at anything and everything. When I go over to feed him, he flares at me.. then when I put the pellets in the water, he flares at them before he eats them. If I put a cup next to his tank, he will flare and try to attack it through the glass. And when I put a mirror up to him  he just about jumps out of his tank trying to get at himself!

Big Red does that, too. Even if he is in his rock cave with his back to the front of the tank, he will notice anyone who comes close and promptly swim to the front and look them over.

Brinn is pretty chilled out nearly all the time.

I think he has taken on a School Master role with Cahones and Nero the Albino Corys though.

If he sees them playing in the current from the filter, he swims over and flares at them. They take no notice so he swims straight between them and they scoot off. It's hilarious to watch.

Robin stands on his head...He scared the life out of me the first time, as I thought there was something wrong!!! He's done it so many times now, and I realize it's how he relaxes...silly twit!!!

Dodger goes "oto hunting" (think "wabbit hunting"). It's pretty entertaining. He'll seem to get extra bored and just finds a stealthy spot under a cave or behind a plant/rock. He will sit there motionless for a reallllly long time until an oto comes within close proximity. He then proceeds to 'lunge' at it and chase it until it zigs and zags out of this sight. He usually resumes normal swimming after the ordeal  Although I have seen him play three rounds of oto hunting in a row when I was extra bored :p

Thats really funny that a pellet ended up in his nest LauraFrog

lol, it wasn't one, it was three, he poked them in there and he was like standing guard under the nest. Then he's like 'oh, right, it's edible' and totally wrecked the nest getting the pellets... I was laughing so hard.

Keep 'em coming guys, these stories are FUNNY.

AHAHAHA even better. :hyper:

my buy zooms around maniacally when i feed him peas. like a lunatic! it is quite ridiculous and fun to watch. i now look forward to pea day more than he does (i think).. he also like to play games with the cories and shrimp. never nips, just lunges at them as ReMz described them. i too, think this is when he gets bored. he also likes to follow the corries around, keeping tabs on what they're up to. it is very cute! He defo is the grand marshall of the tank!

I fed some shrimp pellets to my cories the other day, when my betta noticed he apparently decided he was on diet control. He went and picked up the pellet and swam around with it in his mouth for something near 15 minutes. The cories were frantically scouring the tank trying to find it, and the whole time my little dude was just hovering above them playing "keep away". lol.

Graffitti, one of my SD boys, likes to relax resting precisely on the tip of his tail, little 'arms' down for all the world like a little person, apparently just staring at the top of the water or into the mirror at his handsome reflection.
I've never seen any fish do that before, and at times I could kill for a camera.
Cutest and funniest thing imaginable.
