Tommorow, I will be getting a 20 litre nano tank (which I will be posting a journal on, hopefully)
I would like to know if there are any fish that might fit in there, apart from the usual Betta, Shrimp and snails?
Does anyone know if fish like Sparkling Gouramis, or Celestial Pearl Danio, or Pygmy Cory or Microrasbora or Dwarf Hatchetfish could fit in there?
Any suggestions appreciated.

6 of the emerald dwarf rasbora or the mosquito chilli rasbora would be ok in there, can't comment on the sparkling gourami as I have no experience of them.

The nano tanks at my lfs always seem to have the above mentioned chilli and emerald rasboras in them, they also tend to have endlers too.

Thanks for the suggestions guys and girls.
How does this sound: 5 Blue Eye rainbowfish/ Chilly Rasbora and 3 Sparkling Gourami
Is this too much?

Which blue eyes Carl? There`s at least a couple of diferent species that are called blue-eyed rainbowfish, could you post a pic of the ones you mean?

Chilli Rasbs need to be in group of 6 really, not sure about the sparkling gourami though, sorry.

I was thinking about either Forktail or Spotted Blue Eyes. I just thought these would be OK as they dont grow too big.

I think the rasbora would be a better than rainbows. The rainbows could do with slightly more room IMO.

I wondered if you might have meant the forktails as I have some, that`s why I asked

I personally think the forktails would be too big to be honest, they`re really active and I`d say a 20 litre would be too small for them however, someone else may disagree.

Have you thought about having the Emerald dwarf Rasbs or the male endlers? The endlers are hugely colourful and very active so would look great in a 20ltr.

I havent seen any of those tiny rasboras near me and the Endlers tend to be quite expensive plus Ive kept them before so.. -_-
Anyway through out the week I wil be visiting fish shops to see in anything catches my eye. Then I will find out if they are suitable and if so I will buy them next week.

Let us know what you decide to get? B-)

Hi, if you mean the Emerald eye rice fish with the Blue eyed rainbows? Because if so they would be amazing with sparkling gourami and do their tiny tiny tiny size you could have a massive school for that size tank I would easily say 8 of the rice fish with 3 of the gourami and then start off with 4 or 5 blue or crystal shrimp and take it from there :)

I was thinking of:
6 shoaling fish (undecided)
2 Blue Tiger Shrimp (if I can get hold of them)
3 Sparkling Gourami

Feeling a bit miffed -_-
Earlier today I phoned the LFS to ask if there was the tank I wanted to buy and when I arrived, someone had already bought it! :grr:
Never mind, I'll try again tomorrow! :good:
