I noticed today in the lfs they carry freeze dried daphnia, brine shrimp, bloodworms, etc. I bought some daphnia, but did not go hog wild until I found out about the nutritional content (compared to that of the frozen stuff). I would like to get freeze dried instead (not taking up freezer space, and not having to soak it in water, rinsing, etc). How does the freeze dried compared to frozen?

Freeze dried is about as comparable to frozen as frozen is to live. There are some nutrients lost in the freeze drying process that are more stable when frozen but freeze dried is more convenient for some people.

Oh and you don't have to rinse frozen fish food, its all precleaned and ready for consumption.

the freeze dried contain higher percentages of proteins and vitamins because they are basically dried up foods. the frozen or live foods will containe about 90% water, which holds no nutrional value to fish.

what you must consider is while they are 10 times more concentrated in proteind, they probably weigh 10 times less so in the end, you get the same value
