if you spread it out that means there is less surface area for bacteria to colonise so would a sponge not do better

If you spread out a specific amount you will be increasing the surface area, if you squashed it together you decrease surface area. Same with the sponge, squeeze it into a ball in your hand makes its surface area extremely small compared to where its fully expanded. Same principles on the floss.

Yeh I guess we both have strong opinions haha, true about the Wiki too I actually always say that as well but with something like Density it's an easy equation for everyone to know.
