Fluval 404 Canister Filter

I got one of these when I got my 360L tank, it used to leak so I ended up getting an internal.
I just happened to be looking on a website and noticed one that said something about a Gasket.
Well that was it, the one I got didn't have a gasket no wonder it leaked, so I just bought one of Ebay, I nealy dumped it not long ago, I'm glad I didn't now, it works OK really except for the leak obviously.

I agree. Iv had a few fluval filters like fx5, 406, 405, 306 and the 205... All leaked except for the fx5 and 406

First a correction, it isn't a Fluval 404 but a 204, my mistake.

Second it's gone in the bin, the reason was I got a gasket for it, fitted it and installed the filter in the tank, had a job to get it to run then I managed it after my arm dropping off priming it.
Then I went to make a coffee, luckily I returned to have a look and there was water all over the floor.
Panic stations! I didn't need to turn it off as it had somehow got water to run down the power cable to the socket and it blew the electrics.

Mopped up, dried the electrics out and got everything running again, then the filter went in the bin, I don't want to even try and fix it or see why it leaked again.
