I wouldn’t worry about the sealant as long as you have the aquarium grade I attempted it before made a hash of it but good thing was it didn’t leak. I would recommend the fluval fx series with this and I would use an external heater run it from inside ur house

I'm also thinking about a piece of foam insulation under the tank... I see many do that for tanks in their homes... I never have, I always place my tanks directly on dimensional lumber, and that's never been a problem, but O suspect for an outdoor tank, a layer of insulation under the tank, makes sense , rather than actually sitting on a surface that could be well below freezing...

also assuming silicone hose for the filter and air lines, would stay more flexible during the winter, than vinyl...

also thinking about lighting... the roof of the screened porch, has exposed rafters... I'm thinking 3-4 recessed can lighting fixtures along, and above the tank, would direct the light down, and not shine directly in anyone's eyes... LED bulbs are much better than most previous designs, when it comes to function below freezing...

and probably a blanket wrap for the sides, for extreme winter weather, back of the tank, being tight against the warmer house, a insulation foam cover, for extreme winter weather... maybe a strip of LED lighting, between the tank, and the house, to keep cicadian rythem, when the tank is wrapped up tight, during extreme cold...
