have one of these and its really noisy and not churning much water out! does this mean its full? how do you get the filter sponge out to clean it! the bottom where the arrows are wont pull off and ive tried loads is there a nack to it?

cheers :good:

to open the filter, squeeze the sides at the bottom of the filter, and then pull out the case, sometimes water pressure inside makes this harder than it should be, once it is opened take a bucket of your tank water and briefly clean up the pads, if any are unreusable you will need to replace this one pad, keeping all of the other pads present. Also whilst the filter is open check that the impeller is rotating as it should, you should be able to prise this out of the top of the filter, make sure no small objects are stuck where the impeller rotates,

it wont seem to pull off tho!! :shout: must be jammed cheers for the advice

it will open, PULL HARDER !!! :shout:

When you take the impellor out, clean the magnet around the top so its not slimey. My old one used to get mucky and stop working so well.

I have a fluval plus 4 and I've had no problems with taking it apart to clean and I have 'clean water' in there too (a filter media). Just keep trying to pull it off, but don't break it :good: good luck
