ok so ive heard flicking and rubbing could be signs of a disease, but for many months now a few of my fish occasionally flick in the sand or launch themselves into it (mainly the molly/platys)
not all the time, i might seem them do it once or twice a week. sometimes they do it one after the other like a dance, sometimes its just the odd one.

now ive always checked for signs of ick/other illness and nothing, the fish are in perfect health as far as i can see. could they just like the feeling of the sand? are they showing off to the females? what else could it be? none of the other fish do it just those particular species.

i asked a very similar Q not long back, i think its just what they do to be honest, guppies and platys used to have me worrying constantly about whitespot, but nothing ever developed and they still do it

phew its not just mine then thats a relief! hows your little lads tank? was bored the other day and was looking through the members tank photos section and saw your little lads. didnt even know you had kids shelagh! just thought you had oscars lol!

my kids have a 60L in there room it was my fry tank but they have now evicted the fry and want their own fish, no idea what they are planning on but no doubt i'll be paying!
