9. Switch on the heater, air pump and filter and let the aquarium run for at least a week.
Perhaps they are referring to not the fishless cycle but the fact that you have everything running and see if any problems might occur ie the heater is going nuts, filter stops working, the tank busts or whatever other mechanical problems might occur. The fact that they mentioned other useful novice advice really impressed me and it's rather sad how you people are so quick to point out the flaws in what seems as a "unique" concerned company. No one at all in my province that works at a fish store (and I have called around) knows about fishless cycling or for that matter has a website where people can education themselves about fish before they go out and spend money. They may not have everything right but honestly neither do you. I've been offered bad advice in the past from this forum and I've also asked questions here that no one was able to answer.

You people are so quick to jump down people’s throats that you don't recognize finally a good thing happening in commercial fish store, educating the public one little bit at a time.
