Fishy Cycling - A New Way

SORRY EVERYONE - UR JUST ALL VERY STEROETYPICAL BECAUSE OF MY AGE

I would have to say it is your attitude, your age has nothing to do with it.

That aside I personally do appreciate posts where people are trying to help, which is what your orignal post was. You where trying to make people aware of a product which if it works could be very useful.

The problem is a lot of people that have kept fish for awhile have seen these types of products a LOT and almost all of them have been proven to have little or no effect on tank cycling. I would say that if you want to prove they are working you need to take regular tests of ammonia, nitrite and nitrate to show that there are no spikes and that the ammonia-nitrate cycle is working correctly. You also need to make sure that if the readings are at zero it is because they have been processed and not because they have been chemically "locked". Without hard figures people are going to have a hard time believing it. This is nothing person against you but is just a general lack in faith in these kind of products.

I'm actually cycling a new tank at the moment and have been using a product called JBL Denitrol. It seems to have sped things up a bit over the last time I cycled a similar sized tank but I wouldnt call that conslusive proof.

I'm sorry, but I'm two years younger than you and way more mature. A: Caps will get you nowhere, and B: don't try to make everything a competition or you'll just end up losing.

Dont love eachother up... I said a bad word in temper.. get over it :(

im a year younger than you and your attitude is just rediculous sorry but all these people are trying to do is help you!
i used bactozym it doesnt actually contain live bacteria it just makes the ideal settling place FOR bacteria...if you want it to work fast like i did use live bacteria with bactozym.....

And all im gunna say is calm down.....

OMD SHUTUP EVERYONE I SAID IM SORRY OMDDDDD
Look I know everyone is trying to help and I appreciate that. But taking the michael out of me saying the letters sya you mean it etc.. For gods sake, tehy gave me the correct readings yeah and tey were fine. We did an ammonia liquid test thing. And where all the colours change?

What were the readings?

Didn't you read his post? He told you to shut up.

He didnt tell me to shut up as this is my first post on this thread! I am trying to actually help this guy, as rude as he is. I believe hes getting his back up cus he knows hes in the wrong, so im just trying to put him right. If he told us the readings we might actually be able to help, but then i guess theres no helping some people.

I know he didn't tell you to shut up specifically, I was just pointing out to him that his attitide is somewhat rude. I have given up trying to help and I think a few other people have too.

I think he is hell bent on doing a cycle with fish which is fine for some people I do think it is a bit odd that he has tried to justify it by saying he finds it too expensive, or it takes too long. I think it would be a false economy saying cycling with fish is cheaper as you will only have to replace the stock you kill. A bottle of ammonia is £2 ish. He really should invest in a test kit himself whether he is cycling with or without fish. I wasn't having a go at you I was just highlighting this young mans rudeness. especially to people who have offered their advice. I have nothing but praise for the vast majority of people on this board who have oodles of experience and knowhow, the information here has made my time keeping fish a pleasurable one. Before coming here I dodn't fully understand the nitrogen cycle and never heard of fishless cycling.

I notice he has made an apology, I haven't read it but I think he has shown he can be grown up and mature, so I commend him for trying to make things right.

Yes i see what you are saying but surely its up to me whether i want to help someone or not. He has actually PMed me appologising for his behaviour and in return ive given him some advice on fishless cycling, as a result he is going to get a test kit. Whether he does or not is his own choice but at least ive given him advice.

Of course it is completely up to you and I wasn't suggesting otherwise.
