Point is.... its ALWAYS been possible to start a tank with ZERO cycling, and add fish... its just not the "done" thing these days.

Its also possible to clean your chimney with a 5 year old boy, but would you want to ?

IMO anything sold as an aid to speed up this NATURAL process is just snake oil, if you cannot be bothered to research a little then you shouldnt be keeping animals PERIOD.

I agree with everyone else on this thread... I'm sorry but you really will kill your fish. Did you actually ask the Pet at Home people what the precise readings were?
Or did you just ask them if the readings were ok?
Pet shops usually tell you lies, because they are not experienced. They sell beginners huge fish for a small tank, tell you those products work, and usually give you wrong info. So please trust us, not them.
If there were any readings of ammonia or nitrite readings, and high nitrates, then they aren't working.
Keep testing your water at least every other day, every day if possible.
If there is any sign of ammonia or nitrite, do a 50% water change right away.

On a BACTOZYME note, I used it this week too, my main tank is ok, but my fry tank has ended in disaster

Hi RiiCKYOMD.I have to say mate, that with an attitude like that you wont get very far on here. I am cycling with fish and found none of these 'miracle' filter boosters to be any good. Each to their own and all that but, if you are serious in keeping healthy fish you need to be testing your own water with your own kit. New tanks are very up and down with levels of ammonia ect. I am having to do water changes on a daily basis to keep leels of ammonia ect down as i didnt know about fishless cycling. Patience is the key word, and lots of it. Blowing your stack and telling people 'Up Yours!' when they are giving you advice, and good advice at that isnt very good really is it. Most of the people i have spoke to on this frum have been very helpfull, even though they may not agree with cycling with fish. I am gratefull for them and the advice they give, if you dont want to listen to advice, may i suggest you join a forum for 'hot heads' and not tropical fish!

He didnt tell me to shut up as this is my first post on this thread! I am trying to actually help this guy, as rude as he is. I believe hes getting his back up cus he knows hes in the wrong, so im just trying to put him right. If he told us the readings we might actually be able to help, but then i guess theres no helping some people.
