started to go back up with ammonia now-added 3ppm. :)

9.30am

tested this morning

ammonia 0.50

no ammonia added

9.30am

ammonia 0
nitrite 0 :good:

I have added a few flakes and will add ammonia this evening :)

9.30pm added 3ppm ammonia(last night)

9.30am today

ammonia 1.0
nitrite 1.0

9.30pm tonight

ammonia 0.25
nitrite 0.50

seems to have slowed down,is this normal?

The whole nitrite portion of a fishless cycle can be more dragged out than the ammonia portion. Often people come off "the spike" thinking that's going to be "about it" but then the A-Bacs keep producing lots of nitrite and the N-Bacs are just slower to develope fully into a population that can handle all that for sometimes quite a while after the spike phase. Don't lose heart, its a normal frustration we see a lot and time after time it eventually rights itself and the filter gets to working.

nitrite 1.0

9.30pm

ammonia 0.25,probably less than this, but not yellow or the green on card, looks yellow with a hint of green!
nitrite 0.50

9.30am

ammonia 0
nitrite 0.25

9.30PM

ammonia 0
nitrite 0

3ppm ammonia added

9.30am

ammonia 1.0
nitrite 0.25

seems strange the ammonia is now slower than the nitrite,or is that because the nitrates are munching the nitrites?
