fish in glass blocks

aren't those blocks used in buildings of fancy bath rooms with a hole drilled in the top....???
I think so!

Have you guys ever seen the Betta in the necklace, or the shoe? The necklace one must be so damned heavy, and the Bettas would die every other day. The shoe on the other hand....I can just see someone not wanted to change the Betta, leaving the dead one in there....

DB :fish:

Hi...although I think the treatment of the betta is horrible, and, being a new 'fishaholic', I think it's sad that someone has to make a buck off a small animal's suffering this way, I have to agree with BlueIce.....I think that a better way would be to email Ebay's support staff about cruelty to animals and flood them from emails complaining. THEY should request that he pull the sale or change his product. How 'bout a post suggesting members here email them? SH
Unfortunately ebay doesn't care about what people are selling-they just want to make the $$ which they are.

DId you see the way he handled the fish?

Would he handle a dog the same way?

I take it you've all never seen these:

Betta Fish as decorations in a handbag. Yes, a handbag.

I sent the owner a nasty email and shocking enough, never got a response.
Horrifying.
That's also been in the betta forum several times.

Do a quick search in there for 'betta purses'. There's an online petition going around for that as well.

It's ridiculously cruel, and I know I've sent several emails to those people about their bags.

the sad thing is they probably get these emails and think

"Those bitchy fish loving freaks - why don't they get off our backs?"
*so we can go about ridiculously making money off of little poor fishies*

then toss them into their delete folder.

I guess many people see fish as decorations, especially betta's. Being sold in small cups probably perpetuates the idea they should be kep that way.

Being able to survive doesn't make it right or pleasant. Some people survived concentration camps too.

My first thought when I saw the picture was.. how do you get the fish out when it dies?

Of course, the instructional video showed how easy the dead fish will come out.

 wat kinda idiot would keep a betta in a hand bag, thats sick, i wanna rig all those bags with explosives so every blond haired fool who buys it gets blown to bits and the homeless animals of america eat thir dismembered body part  .......... no offense to blonds or idiots.. -_-

...oh man....I was able to see the instruction video when I got home from work today. Must be a lot of pissed off betta owners out there. Did you see that fish smash thru there? Geez. SH

think it would be ebay-legal for me to make my own auction "selling" information about how the glass block fish tanks are animal cruelty?

i know people have auctions where you can buy info about scam artists on ebay.

I think that'd be an EXCELLENT idea.
You can then take the cash you make and buy more bettas with it.

;)
i wouldnt really be selling anything. id have the info in the auction and list it for 1 cent or so.

not really a bidding auction
