How big are they?
Don't you have an Oscar tank that they could go in?
 
i have a 6ft oscar tank yes....would they live ok with them???? thought they would require different care (oscars being new worlds and jewels being malawis?)

They're not actually from Lake Malawi, they're one of the Riverine species, and from what I read highly adaptable to different water conditions. :good:

Jewels are a funny species that don't really fit in setups containing other african species and will generally do better in with larger NW cichlids that can hold their own.

If you have a pair then you would be best off adding them to their own tank and then keeping the other in with the O's
