Okay, instead of rams, I am just going with a pair of firemouths (male and female) and some kind of bottom feeder. Um, I would like to know some info on firemouths - breeding habits, ease of breeding, care of fry - things like that. If they do breed, would I have to separate the eggs from the parents? Would they eat the eggs? What care do I have to give for the fry? And also - the real important question - whats the best care for firemouths? -_-

first of all what size tank are you thinking of getting?

ime, firemouths do well with jewels, convicts, any of the less aggressive fish. even seen them put with groumae's. don't know about that one. you would have to get a group of them and let a pair form. never had much luck with getting a male and female and forcing them to form a pair.
