I have used two browsers for many years- Pale Moon and Firefox. P M is ver privacy oriented and wont work on some sites, especailly for streaming like form Amazon Prime. It also has issues on some financial sites. This is why I also have Firefox. I keep both browsers up to date.

In the recent past I have had problem navigating here. I have had problems with lnks to things on the site not working. I have had to log out of FF and use P M to get things done here. I have not changed any of my settings nor have I added any extensions or plug-ins to either browser.

I keep windows 10 updated and i use CCleaner Pro as well. I do not store any history, cookies or passwords on my PC. I do use ad blockers on both browsers.

I use MS Edge for this forum. It's old but works. I also run Firefox but don't do updates on a regular basis because they are like Microsoft when it comes to updates. One works and the next one doesn't (not quite that bad but that's the gist of it). The main issue I have with Firefox is I get pop-up notifications straight after I install an update. It does my head in. I have literally just done the updates and it's asking if I want to download and install the updates. AHHHHHH

And the latest update from microsofty screwed my new laptop, which is running windows 11. Gotta love multi-billion dollar companies that are in such a rush to release new updates, they screw up millions of computers in the process. This will be the third computer that microsofty has wrecked with their stupid updates since 2016 :(

I am dreading having to move to Windows 11. Windows 10 is some of the most invasive software i have seen since I got my first PC in 1987. The took that title away from Apple who rained in that sphere for a long time. I do not have a Microsoft account for 10, I have a "local" account.

Before 10 I sopped doing updates except for the security ones. I used to get them from the Windows site which allowed one to choose what they download rather than using the built in Windows Update.

To this day I still do not do automatic updates for any of my software. I have them all set to notify only. What I used to do for Windows updates was to read the news on them looking for any potential issues. Depending what I found being said, I either did them or else waited until the news became they had fixed the issue. So far no FF update has broken anything. But, I run a pretty lean machine and tend to turn off a lot of the features.

I will never allow Edge or Chrome on my box. Nor will I register on most sites. I will not even register on medical related sites which includes the patient portal for my medical practice and the local hospital I use. There is no camera nor micro[phone connected to my PC. The last hard drive I filled was the huge 10 meg one I had with Windows 3. I do nothing in the cloud which is just somebody else's computer.

So far I have never been hacked, gotten a virus or had to remove malware from any PC I have owned. Nor have I ever downloaded anything from an app store. I own one device. I do not count my flip phone as I had my provider disable it from receiving texts except the one which pops up telling me how much they charged for the phone call I just ended.

I also really hate small screens and touch screens. I have naturally dry skin and then add to that 20 tanks which kept my hands in water a lot. When I touch a touch screen nothing happens 9/10 tries. So I do not own a smart phone nor a tablet and never have.

Windows 11 is like win10 except updates automatically get on your machine and there's no software to turn them off. Win10 can't turn off the updates either but there was some software I found online that stopped auto updates by changing a letter in one line of code and it worked great :)
