HI guys,

I've had a fire blood shrimp for about a week now, its actually been pretty active, and often see him walking around some of the LR.
I woke up this morning to find a dark empty shell figure of the blood shrimp near the back of my tank. (lights were still off)
I thought it must of just changed its shell (would be a first for me since having this shrimp (or any shrimp for that matter).

When I turned on the light, it looked like the head of the shrimp is still attached to the body, but the bottom juicy meat bit is all missing, including the legs. looking around the other side of a pipe of rocks I found a little mound of (what seems to be fire shrimp meat)... :(

I guess its dead, but who would have killed it. At this current moment I'm watching one of my domino damsels picking at the shell, and my blue stripe hermit crab eating the rest of the meat. (dont know if they just woke up to find this, at he's shell was near the oter side of the tank when I lights were out.)

Current tank mates:

2x domino damsels
2x 3 stripe damsels
2x blue yellowtail damsels
2x common clowns
1x cleaner wrasse

1x poormans moorish idol (just received yesterday)
1x boxer crab (pompom crab) received yesterday - also only has 1 arm.
2x red legged hermits
2x blue stripe hermits
2x peppermint shrimps (althru I've never seen them both together) but they do always hide.
1x pearly jawfish (received yesterday - but cant find it - more info in another post)

There is one other crab (hitchhiker) unknown type to me. Its currently living in a hole in one of my LR (but the little guy is soo small he hasnt come out of the same LR hole yet (in 1 month) and I can see still it in that current hole.

Any ideas??

yeah its sucks losing a nice shrimp  i lost my cleaner about a week ago, still dont know why. i had it for 3 months.

i reckon it would of been the damsels, they can be nasty

Are you 100% that its dead and not just shed its skin like the normally do??

yep, after nearly a week. No more blood shrimp.
