Hi all.

just thought i would share with you all that i am a new owner of a grade AAA Flowerhorn, so far he is only about 3 inches in size so only a baby, the hump on his head is starting to develop, the colours are amazing,at the moment he is in my large tank with my severum and other cichilds and just ordered my new 5ft tank for him to live in which will arrive next friday, shame my digi camera is knackered as would love to share pics,

Anyone with any good advice with these fish then help will be well and truely welcomed,

Link works fine. Lovely looking fish, especially as he is only 3" !

Our local World of Water (Romsey) had a couple of very large AAA grade flowerhorns in recently. They were great, and both seemed like real characters. First time I'd ever seen them I think.
They were in separate tanks BTW. I gather they are not reknowned for their sociability with other fish !
What are you planning to house him with in the 5 footer ? maybe if he grows up from little with some other fish, he'll accept them.

a beauty

my LFS had some in recently and stunning fish, some of the adults you see on a google search are stunning. aren;t they meant to be a tad feisty!!!

well they are ment to be abit agressive thats why i have a tank coming just for him, i dont know what to put in same tank with him when he finally goes in his own, i have read somewhere that maybe someting like green terror may be ok as they can hold there own abit and also flowerhorn are ment to have terror in them,

Amazing :) never seen one in 15 years of keeping fish, would love one one day.

hi mark
nice lookin fh u have there
bought 2 myself a few months ago an put them into a 5x2x2ft tank.things were fine at first until 1 bullied the other and was taking all the food for himself.in turn he was getting bigger than the 2nd one so i moved it to a 4ft tank.the growth difference between the 2 was crazy as the 1 gettin all the food was twice the size and the hump on his head started forming.the weaker 1 now has plenty of food for himself and is commin on leaps and bounds.i feed mine frozen bloodworm, shrimp, brine, pellets and there favourite is earthworms which are great for colour and growth.flowerhorns are 1 of the most aggressive fish i have ever kept.imo they are more aggressive than piranha and i kept them before aswell.i have tried to house other fish with flowerhorns but none survived too long.fantastic fish but the only downside is u need a big tank for 1 fish
best of luck with ure new fh
