that was my first thought my sultans when young have been a lot lighterwith the black spotting

although second look I suppose yes its a similar colour, need a side view and a look at the tail

yes very pleased with it not sure of the sex but its settled in very well and had a good look around the tank last night to find its favourite spot and the female BN seems to be fine about it

just been informed on catfish planet that its not a sultan L314 its a L263 not happy at all
