Filter For A 130l Tank

i like fluval i trust fluval and im all for fluval so would a fluval plus 3 be ok for a 130Litre tank? im currently using a fluval plus 4 which i personaly think is way to large for it......any advice or even if you think anouther filter may do would be great also what of the new fluvals? thanks!

internal fluvals, swear by them, but externals (apparently) leak

if you have more filtration, isnt it better for the tank, or is it too much flow for the fish?

Fluval 3 plus is rated 'Up to 130 litres' so it would be at the top of it's limit but should be okay. My Roma 125 litre came with the 3 plus, it gives great filtration and i've had no problems with it.

A Fluval U4 would fit your needs perfectly, I believe you get a free on when you subscribe to Practical fish keeping magazine.

It contains Bio, chemical and mechanical media, if I were you I would ditch the chemical carbon and replace it with more ceramic or sponge media.

well, i was looking at the fluval u3 as i think it may be more suited to the tank? the problem ive got with the fluval 4plus is the fact that it hits the bottom of the sand....so i belive it to be a problem, what is the fluval u4 rated for?

I just bought s U3 for my 29 gallon and it works perfectly. Dont get the U4, its may be to tall for your tank. There is only 1-2 in from the bottom of the filter to the bottom of my tank. Works great and has lots of options.
