i went away on the 4th and left our house sitter to look after the fish i set out pots with the daily food amounts. but when i got back my pictus look slightly off colour it almost looks like they have been scrapping, possibly due to a lack of food? i have have counted them all and they are all still alive but alot less active than before. soo what should i do?

pictus do "scrap" a fair bit, its what they do and it can look aggessive, but they have like a pecking order, as to being of colour have you done you waterchanges and checked water stats?

i haven't, but i'm keeping to my usual schedule of weekly 25%. will do an extra one tomorrow.

First thing to do is check water stats.

How many gallons is the tank.
How many fish and which type?

Until we know water stats we are quessing.

Good gravel vac, water change.
Check water stats before you start maintaining the tank.
