Looking good.

Your right he has got a few nips on his fins, but with some water changes those should heal up really quickly

i know just cant wait to get him in the 50gal when i get it atm he chases the severum and firemouth away and the firemouth comes back for more and flares his red throat

since sending this topic i have gotten rid of my blue acara for a smaller one due to him bullying my sev and firemouth and swapped him for a smaller one which looks identicle to urs mark

hows the new one ? any better? i love them not 100% sure but i seem to remember it saying wild blue acara on the tank. i will pm the person from the lfs i got it from and let you know. would be sooooo cool if he hit his full potential size

sorry mark i meant foley, yours is definitely a BA, and a very nice Male at that,
Foleys image is almost certainly of a GT IMO

there are no Green Terrors in this forum except mine

Foleys ex fish was also a BA...you can tell when they are just nippers by the spacing of the horizontal black lines...BA's are evenly spread and GTs arent,

yes foley have just heard back and my blue acara is indeed a wild one so hopefully with good feeding/conditions etc i can get him to 8" fingers crossed that would be such a cool fish

good you got yaself a wild one its hard to find a wild one in the UK and my little fella is fine he gets harrassed off my sev sometimes but i have a JD that sorts him out they are all little babys now i got rid of my firemouth yday because he was leathering my convict but spose it was for the good and its deffinatley a blue acara he does not have the colouration of on the fins like GT's have on them.

Also some opinions on breeding convicts in a 25 gal is this tank big enough size they will be the only fish in the tank apart from 2 BN plecs

cool hope the new acara works out. id love a jack dempsey but im reluctant to add 1 to my tank as its a nice mellow peacefull tank at the mol and jack dempseys can be propper naughty from what ive read about them. gorgeous fish tho
