Feeding Tropical Freshwater Fish Welks?

hi

i currently feed my tanks prawns as i get them free from my uncle, and i was wondering if i could also feed them welks? as they are snail like and i'm sure my clown loaches would love them. but didn't want to risk it so i thought i would ask her first.
