Feeding Time...

I actually skip meals - - such as one Monday AM, one Monday PM, one Tuesday in the middle of the day, One Wednesday AM, one Wednesday PM, one Thursday in the middle of the day...

in nature, fish don't have a schedule, so I mix it up on them that way they are always looking for the food and none goes to waste :good:

In the wild, when times are good, fish eat almost constantly. When times are bad they go weeks without any decent food supply. Much the same could be said about human beings who do not have a grocery store. they eat well when there is food available and eat almost nothing when times are bad. I look at feeding my fish much like feeding people. If it is possible, feed them quite regularly with an amount that leaves them a bit hungry all the time and they will thrive and prosper.

I feed mine twice a day (bettas) and the others every other day. I do have the issue that my bettas are fat pigs and that they will eat themselves to death

If you have 1 species of fish, I would say once a day or twice. On the twice basis, only feed them a small pinch at a time. Feed your fish only what they can eat within 2 mins (rule of thumb). It is a trial and error basis but worth it.

I feed a mixture of pellets and flake, once a week they get bloodworm and brimeshrimp in garlic. On the 7th day, they get a pea, whether they like it or not  8th they get no food and then the cycle begins again.

I feed my goldfish twice a day (purely as we feed them a little bit each time as there is a lot of them :)). My betta's get fed once a day.

No matter what you feed your fish; it will adjust to your schedule :)
