Featherfin Catfish With Guppy's?

Hi, we've got 4 male and 5 female guppy's in our 120l tank and are thinking that we need to move 3 of the males out to give the females some peace. In our 300l tank is a threadfin catfish, and we'd like to know if they'd be ok with him. We've been given totally conflicting advice about this. The tank has plenty of rocks, plants and hiding places.
