Fantail Goldfish Problem!

Hey, my blue fantail goldfish has a red mark in the right hand corner of his lip and i'm not sure what it is. My lfs said that it is probably an ulcer, but i wanted to check out any other possibilities!! Any reply would be very much appreciated!!!! Thanks, Alex
