hi guys new to the forum and been fish keeping now for over 8months, done battle with cycling my juwel 180 finally good, dreaded white spot outbreak, over 2months lost 4 fish total.

but just bought new solid oak 450litre seashell 6ft tank, to house my convict cichlid, 2 gold and green severum, 1 x firemouth, and 3 rainbow cichlids, and finally my stunning tiger oscar who is currently in a seperate tank with the convict cichlid..got to go back to external filtration system but worried if one leaks when im not home, so which one and can you get a autoshut off if the filter pressure drops due to leakage

Can't help you with the auto shut off, but i have just fitted a TetraTec 1200 external filter and it is an awesome bit of kit.

Welcome to the forum also :) :good:

If money was no object I would get the Fluval G6 Premium for $530 plus shipping. It seems to do everything but feed your fish! But I honestly think that if you check all the filter components that have the potential to leak everyday (if you are that concerned) you could save a lot of money and get an Eheim for $150 plus shipping. They have a great reputation and a 3 year warranty. I have one and the quality of the components is outstanding. Nothing in this world is perfect. Even the ship that "GOD himself could not sink", the R.M.S. Titanic, sank.
