Yeah, I'm getting rid of the riccia. Getting tired of it. Too much work and not enough aesthetic pleasure. Just gotta wait for the glosso to grow out so I can pull it up, spread it out and replant it!!

Thanks for the kind words guys. I'll update again when the left side is done.

Yeah, if I had to choose between the two, I think glosso would get my vote. Glosso is native to what region of the world?

Great looking tank pseud, though I miss the deformis. I happen to like that rooty look, it's also great for fry or small fish cover, but I can definitely understand why it's not liked.

Thanks *beams all proud* Just wait til it's 'finished'...

Your tank looks absolutely fantastic.

Though I could only get the first two photos to load with my incredibly slow dial up connection.

I think I am agreeing with you in regards to the Riccia, my fish keep picking it off of the slate and it looks messy. It has actually adhered to the coarse filter media that is stuffed into my HOB filters, (to slow the water flow) and it looks really nice there. I didn't think it had the capability to grab onto anything, but it is quite attached to the filter media. I will give it a chance and stick with it for now.

what on earth are you talking about old chap. "finished" and "planted tanks" dont go together.

looking fab as ever, shame about the riccia. if the light were a tad stronger it would pearl like mad. has it pearled at all since planting?

i do like the glosso though. i'm a greedy sod and have now got both. :D

Oh yeah, the Riccia started pearling and looked good. Then I removed the hygros and it stopped pearling pretty much all together. My guess is that because the fast growing plants were gone, there was less photosynthesising happening, and thus, less oxygen going into the water. Because the water wasn't saturated it didn't pearl. It did pearl after water changes though. Anyway, I just got rid of the last of it. It's too messy for me, and too much work. I'm replacing with glosso and some HM. I may post some pics this evening.

Literally just got finished but was too excited to show these, so excuse the 'dusty' water. Almost "finished" ;) Just gotta wait for stuff to grow out... in.. you know what I mean.

Pseud, that's going to look awesome, once it grows out, I mean in.

The bogwood looks great, is that Anubia on it? I condsidered suggesting some driftwood or bogwood before, but didn't want to overstep my bounds. It really looks great. I am looking forward to seeing what it looks like in a couple of weeks.
