Help when do i know when to change everything the pump is a ecco pro 300.Its been running 2 weeks so i removed the carbon pad today as per instruction booklet but what about the other things

Carbon pads are just annoying!!! They remove toxins yes but then starve filters on nuterants that's much needed to feed the beneficial bacteria.

So watch to ammonia levels for the next 5 days, as you many need to do some water changes.
The rest of the media you never need to replace, other then the filter floss.
Any ceramic's or sponges should be cleaned once a month in a bucked with tank water and then put back in the filter and fresh filter floss added.

Agree with helterskelter. If this is the startup of a new tank you realize you'll be in a fish-in cycle? Or perhaps its already fishless cycling. At any rate, our articles in the beginners resource center cover both these types of cycles and also an explanation of the nitrogen cycle.

Another good habit with your eheim is to coat all your silicone (rubber-looking main gasket, other seals if any etc.) with vasoline and to clean your impeller and the impeller well each time you do maintenance on the media as described above. Occasionally the input and outlet tubes may need to have a rag on a string pulled through them to clean out any debris that sticks inside them.
