Ehiem Filter Recommendations

looking to upgrade my all pond solutions filter to an ehiem,anyone got any recommendations for a 300l tank.

i thougth the same untill i looks in other threds lots of broke ones ad not cheap

I'd look at the PRO and PRO2 filter, which means getting sh, unless you are lucky. steer clear of the NEW PRO3's. though the OLDER 2080e (know for its excellent BIO filtration) is perfect, and reliable, for your tank. but a 2262 may also fit the bill. all the mentioned filters will last a life time with bullet proof reliability. the only real stipulation i would make is, to use Eheim's own media (if they dont come with any). it really makes a difference to how long you have between cleans. you might also look at the Fluval FX5, though you will need to spend a fortune on media, as it comes with only sponge out the box. lol, remember the media goes in "upside down" in comparison to the Eheim set up.
you could also get 2 2028's. this may prove cheaper if you are looking second hand.

only one model batch of Eheim has any, significant, reliability problems. they are the NEW PRO3's 2075 et al. but i agree, stay well away from them for a year or two. if the PRO3e is anything to go by, they should be bullet proof by then.
