Connected up my Eheim Pro 3 2080 to my new tank last night and had it running great through both a external C02 reactor and a UV steralizer. Went out for a bit and returned home to find the c02 reactor had a small hairline crack and was leaking  Panicked and dropped the water level below the intakes drained hoses siliconed the reactor and connected it all back together.

Thats when it happend

NOTHING

I cannot for love nor money get the filter to reprime I was up till 03:45 this morning fighting with it till I was to tired to continue. I thought perhaps there was an airlock or something like that so tonight I drained the cannister and all the hoses and reconnected it all up. Now the manual says I should use the prime button to start the refill before turning the filter back on the only issue here is if I do that absolutely nothing happens.

Im at my wits end been really depressed recently and this was the closest to tears I've been since my little one was born

I still use the old school method of sucking on the exhaust cap... Once you hear water coming through the system, STOP. Then turn it on and it should work like a charm. Though I have at one point kept sucking and tasted a little tank water.... :)

It's very odd on its initial prime it could run the external c02 reactor and the uv but now it cant even do the reactor. Occaisonally flow will start and make it almost to the end of the flow bar before I seem to lose pressure.

Check your inlet hoses. I fought tooth and nail with a new filter for months before realizing I had left the inlet hose a bit too long. When I had it out to look at it, everything seemed fine but when I placed it back into the cabinet it would not move much water. I finally realized that a kink was developing when it moved those few inches back under the tank instead of being out front. After I cut off about 2 inches of hose, the thing worked like the new filter that it was.

lol, i hear that one!

I'm thinking air leak also.

The kink and air leak suggestions are excellent troubleshooting ideas, very good thinking. Have you tried taking the reactor and UV out of the equation (would require a long enough stretch of hose but might be worth it to run and get.) Have you closely examined the main seal or any other seals (hose quick release) that might be creating an air leak?

And you've let the filter box have a good long fill from the inlet hose prior to starting into the priming attempts, right? (sometimes you can even "shake" more air up into the outlet hose and get more water around the impeller I think.)

Turned out it was all down to the fact I had dropped the water level down for planting it was still above the intakes but I guess not sufficient pressure was being attained. Once I filled the tank to the brim 2 presses of the prime button and whoosh spraybar in full effect

Thanks for all the tips I'm feeling pretty dumb atm

I now take it all back Eheim Pro 3 2080 How I love thee !
