I have an Eheim 250 that I purchased in 2014. I've been having problems with the ceramic shaft. My old one broke and the newer ones seem to be slightly longer than the original. So the last 2 have broken after a short period of time. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can use instead? Maybe one from a different eheim filter? Thanks for any ideas.

If the new shaft is longer than the old one, they sent you the wrong item.

Make sure you specify the model and year you got it because they might have changed the model since then and made the shaft slightly longer.

You can look around for a Fluval or other brand of impellor shaft made from steel or ceramic (Eheim is ceramic). As long as it's the same length and diameter, get whatever you can find. If worse comes to worse, find a piece of stainless steel rod that is the correct diameter and cut it to length.
