Eggs ?

good evening all ive just cleaned my external filter for the first time and inside ive found quite a few fry (alive and dead) and also a lot of small jeely eggs(i think) they are approx ther size of a small childs small finger nail at most , anybody know what they are Cheers Ian

i would geuss the jelly is snails eggs

just w3ondering then if they are snails eggs where did they come from as i have no snails in my tank , and also how doi get rid of them ?

a variety of fish , also live plants that have been in there for about 4 months and the base is sand

The snails would have came from the live plant for sure. The fry would depend on what varity of fish you had. Any livebearers?

yes there is livebearers in there and i havent seen any sign of snails in the tank at all

I would say the fry are frome the live bearers for sure. Where are the eggs to in the tank? On the glass? All the snail eggs I have ever seen have been incased in a clear jelly like substance.

the jelly eggs are in the external filter
