Believe it or not my water is crystal. These photos do it no justice. When I was tryin to take a pic I kept getting a reflection of the window on the tank glass. So I drew the curtains to take the pic but this made my lights glare the camera making my water look cloudy in the photos.

Dam cameras!!

I need to get a decent camera and learn how to use it, but I might spend my £$£ on a pair of TMC Grobeam 1500 LED tiles.

Just got some a week ago - I agree it is amazing stuff - still to add it to many of the tanks but has made a difference to the one it is in.

Hey did you know Ps3steveo custom builds high powered LED units?? There awesome and he makes them for low and high tech
Techen bought some here....
http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?/topic/415842-my-new-toy/
These also have moonlights. And iv also ordered some too! Cant wait!!
If its LEDs you want, might be worth PM him to see what he can do for you and for a quote maybe?

Right i have some big plans in the future for my tank. As some of you may or may not know, i have some high powered LEDs coming soon from steveo (our mod). To accompany these light iv decided to inject co2 once again, although this time around itll be a bit more challenging as my tank is a lot bigger than last time.
Diffusers atomizers and inline bazookers just wont cut it with my tank because of its shear size. Unless i run many, which is what i dont want. The less equipment you see the better i think.

After having an interesting chat with Lunar Jetman and Livewire88 iv come to realize that the only way forward for me will be an external co2 reactor. First of all i was thinking a Aqua Medic 1000 suggested by Livewire88, but after a long chat the plan now is to buy a cheap external filter and turn that into a reactor. Basically remove all the filter media and replace with bioballs. Lots and lots of bioballs lol. A co2 tube will also be fed into the intake and that should be Job done. If we are right this should achieve 100% diffusion.

This set up will also be a home made fire extinguisher kit, all components will be bought seperately to keep costs down (hopefully) lol
I will right up a shopping list, post links to all equipment i will be buying and update this journal every step of the way for anyone whos interest. I would imagine this will also be a huge help to anyone whos been interested in planted tanks but never really understood co2 gas or or how it works.
Il post back later with a shopping list XD

Ok so where to begin

1. Regulator solenoid and needle valve £54.00
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CO2-Regulator-Solenoid-Aquarium-Home-Brew-Carbon-Dioxide-/300867339399?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Fish&hash=item460d174487
I realize the listing is no longer available but iv messaged the seller and they should be back on ebay soon.

2. Cheap external filter/reactor £45.00
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/360536761447?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

3. Bioballs £9.44
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151011132646?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

4. Bubble counter £5.00
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130834979569?var=430115219971&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
I realize this is coming from Hong Kong but cant beat that price right? If anyone knows of the same sort of bubble counter being sold in the UK for the same price then please let me know.

5. None return valves £2.99
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400442528830?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
Il only need 1 or 2 of these but their only 3quid and it cant hurt to have spares.

6. Drop checker £6.99
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221037091608?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
Again i know their coming from Honk Kong but just cant beat that price. Plus i want about 2 or 3 because of the size of my tank.

7. Co2 tubing £5.99
http://www.aquariumplantfood.co.uk/gush-co2-tubing-3m.html

8. 4DKH solution £3.95
http://www.aquariumplantfood.co.uk/4dkh-water.html

9. Co2 Fire extinguisher £23.50
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2kg-Co2-Fire-Extinguisher-/230946911061?pt=UK_Fire_Extinguishers&hash=item35c5823355
I already have one of these from last time but its only half full and i thinks it always worth having a spare to hand for when its time to replace.

And lastly..

10. Indicator solution £3.99
http://www.aquariumplantfood.co.uk/gush-indicator-solution-10ml.html
Im pretty sure i already have some of this

Thats a grand total of...

£156.86 approx give or take afew pence
Excluding indicator solution as i do have some as it turns out:)

Not bad considering il be building a reactor

Looks like a good shopping list to me, the only thing I would do is change the 2KG Fire extinguisher for a 5KG Fire extinguisher.

Will save you £££ in the long run, as long as it fits in your cabinet, mine only just fits but on a 200l tank it should last me about a year before requiring a refill.

Yea I suppose your right.

That should do the job.
How tall is you fire extinguisher? Ill measure up and make sure itll fit.
And how much and where did you get your regulator from?

That's the same seller I got my 5KG from.

It is 25 inches tall but give an extra inch for the regulator so 26 inch all in.
I bought that regulator and solenoid on Ebay from a German seller but cant find them anymore, the pressure can be adjusted on this one where as the one you linked has fixed pressure.

Wont be a problem tho, I also have the same regulator one on my Arc tank and it runs through an inline diffuser without issue.

Thanx il have a measure up in the morning. I recon it will fit tho.
I know the reg I posted has fixed pressure, ps3steveo recommended it, for what im using it for tho it should do the job. Afterall I wont have a ceramic diffuser or atomizer. It always seems to be them that require that extra pressure.
Ideally I would want to have an adjustable reg jus to have that little more control but I really dont want to spend more than £60 on one tbh.

Know what, after reading some reviews on this I think I am going to try it. How long does it last and how do you rejuvenate it?

Think im going to change my "cheap filter" to a Allpondsolution 2000EF.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310482469238?var=610146276726&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
More powerful moter, bigger canister and slightly better make so hopefully more reliable than a cheap chinese made external.
Plus im goin to deliever the Co2 mixed water via a spray bar which will be pointing down towards my 3200lph powerhead.
Should be putting this order in for everything in 2 - 3 weeks when cash flow picks up again.
Lost lots of work due to this weather
