Very nice. That tall piece of wood in the community tank is gorgeous (slightly worried about my description of a piece of wood) could I ask where you got that from?? As is the piece in the betta tank. Been looking around for wood like that.
Betta is stunning, love those colours for betta.
What type of plec is that, looks beautiful, seems to have a blue tinge, is it a blue phantom???

love the backrounds. did they come with the tank.
thanks

You got some nice tanks there, love the bogwood its got loads od shape and suits the tanks well.

:good:

Hi, the tall bit of 'wood' in fact is hollow resin. Lighter than real wood, does not displace water and provides hidey-holes. It came from lfs and at £30 wasn't cheap! Same for the wood in the betta tank only that was a fiver from ebay. However, there is some real bogwood in the big tank as well. The plec is a Hypostomus soniae (Cochliodon-L137) Pleco.

Beautiful tanks Doresy, especially the first one! ;)

Just like you and yours ;)

my fave is the rio, might do a tang setup myself once im bored with planted tanks which i doubt i wont be Lol

My favorite too for entertainment value :good:

That is one beautiful Hypostomus soniae. Great tanks as well! :good:

Handsome brute I agree and thanks for the full ID (sig. updated in your honour)

Thats quite interesting, have always shied away from resin type as in the shops they don't look natural. Might have to change my mind on that after seeing how well it fits in with your natural scapes.
Have checked out the plec on PC, thats a nice one, relatively small as well compared to others. Was it expensive??

Know what you mean. Resin-wood will look a little unnatural to begin with untill it 'ages' (that one is 2 years old) I did have it half covered in Christmas moss which got a bit messy so took it all off. The Pleco is a shade under 4" nose-to-tail which is about an inch bigger than when I bought him. He was then up for £18 but as I was buying other stuff as well I haggled down to £14. In the wild they go up to 12"

Thats not a bad price at all, I would have paid the £18 no problem. I am finding plecs irresistable, wish they were'nt such poop machines. Have to keep resisting them and it is getting harder and harder. I guess once the male L260 arrives to go with my female, that may stop me wanting for a while, especially if I can get them to breed. I love my BN's to bits have 1 male and 2 too young to sex, hoping for a female. Have just negotiated another tank with other half, will be better than old 105l tall octagon (thats going tomorrow). May have to find a plec for that one, or do some moving about. I have fell in love with yours though. Thinking now!!!!

My LFS had one in EVERY cichlid holding tank (must be 20 or more) so we had great fun choosing the perfect specimen. Funny thing is it was Mrs. D. that really fell for a pleco, she said "they are so strange, a bit ugly and irresistible, bit like you darling" Charming!
