kordon amquel plus, does it work, has anyone any experience of it?

I personally wouldn't use it for anything other than water changes but since you have Seachem Prime I would always select that over anything else from what I have used. Are you talking about just using it for water changes?

i was thinking more for ammonia control, SeaChem Purigen also reckons it can control it, i really am struggling with ammonia at the moment, does either of these products work?

It will work to control Ammonia but nothing beats stopping it before needing to dose something to do so. How long has your tank been set-up, how often do you do water changes, stocking and filter type/maintenance are a few questions that would be useful so that we can get to prevention rather than cure is the way to go.

In the short term though SeaChem Purigen is what I would say if you have really high Ammonia readings and fish in the tank.

Yes Amquel Plus works as advertised. I have used Amquel for years to detox plants and decor given a bleach dip.

I used it as well if I had to use tap water away from home ( i don't dechlor as i have well water). I now use Amquel Plus as well. It is good stuff to have on hand for emergency use should one need to detox ammonia, nitrites and a few other things.

Please read the labels/directions when using either of these products as they will cause false positives on certain types of test kits.

The cure for ammonia is huge water changes using the Amquel or the Prime. Both are decent dechlorinators.
