I think it is an absolute necessity......

ESPECIALLY if you've had disease or have finicky fish (spelling?)

I have an Ammonia drop test kit, a nitrIte drop test kit, a nitrAte and a Copper drop test kit....all from the same make.

I use Coppersafe to treat for parasites therefore I need that kit.

I am going to soon get an actual PH drop test chemistry kit as well!

If you buy them seperatley you can keep your initial cost down and I think you also get way more in your test kit bottles too :unsure:
 
I only recently purchased and used a testing kit. I now keep a log too, just in case. Getting into the habit for when I get a larger tank. I never realised how important is was to test and I count myself lucky that I've never needed one due to nasty circumstances.
As they say... an ounce of prevention...
