they dotn' need aeration, i keep mine in a 10G tank with my bettas and it has no air pumps (just a filter but that's hardly any aeration) :D

lol u know whats funny, i got 4 males each with a ghost shrimp for like a month now and they never attack them :D i guess it varies from betta to betta. I got some in with teh females and nothing hapepned either :)

Ghost shrimp really just need the bare essentials. :)

It's funny, I have ghost shrimp in with all of my bettas, and one of the big female ghost shrimp took over my betta's flower pot, and hasn't let him in it since. I don't think he knows he could take her down.

Well as long as we're on the subject, how long do ghost shrimp live? I'd like to put one in my 2.5 with Kobe. Hopefully he will leave it alone, but I guess if he eats it it'll be a live food treat for him :/

About 1.5 years or so. I've seen some as large as 2" as well. There are several species of Ghost Shrimp and I think one of them gets to be 2" in size.
