Detol?

Further to my other post about salty to FW....2 of my tanks have been sat with water in and not pumping for almost 18 months. I'm nervous that as they are still water and stagnant (although salty) that all sorts of nasty bacteria could be in them and consequently want to Detol the water to kill anything before emptying. Obviously, I'll wash out and also have to do some coraline cleaning with vinegar, but does anyone know if this will have an adverse effect in the future?

If you're going to be using these tanks for freshwater, there's no need to use Dettol, or anything like that. No pathogen or bacteria that can affect freshwater fish can live in salt water (and vice versa; I often use a strong salt solution for disinfecting tanks).

Not strictly true fish tb is transferable but is very unlikely why not use bleach ?

Other part of the concern was harmful stuff to me...i.e. legionnaires.
