Dechlorinator

Hey Im just wondering, I've been filling up pails with tap water and add the dechlorinator then pour it slowly in my tank after 15 mins. My question is how long will it take to fully declhorinate the water inside the pail?
Should I wait longer than 15 mins? Its a 7 gallon pail. Thnx in advance.

i have a 5 gallon bucket i use, pour a dabble of dechlorinatior, fill bucket with water, walk it to the tank and pour it in. never had any problem

Yes dechlorinator is pretty much instantaneous. When putting it in the bucket/pail/whatever swirl the water around a bit so the dechlorinator is mixed in

I see two reasons not to worry, in your post. firstly, as others have said, De-Chlorination works instantly (or effectively so). secondly, fish wont worry about a temperature difference of, several degrees. providing the change is, not more than, 30%. indeed, many experienced members don't heat the water, for water changes, at all.

i dont warm the water up.

I use lukewarm water from tap to match the tank temp, is that ok or should I just use cold water from tap. I normally do 50% waterchange a week.
