In short, yes something like that will help increase the flow around your tank. Many people on here seem to prefer the Hydor Koralia models but others do similar products, e.g. All Pond Solutions have a range that looks suspiciously like the ones in your link!

However before you go out an purchase one it might be worth looking at your filter to make sure it is positioned the best it can be. What have you got and when was it last cleaned?

I have got an APS external canister filter 150lph. inlet on the left, outlet on the right (an inch above the water), and an internal filter that came with the tank, 600lph.

The internal filter is on the left hand side with outlet pointing straight to the right about 2" below the water line.

Thanks

ETA both were last cleaned Friday gone. I just swish them in tank water. x

Ok, well as you have two filters I'd personally try and adjust the outlets of both to see if you can change the flow path before going out to buy anything new. Do you have a spray bar attached to either or is it just a simple outlet for both?

They both just have a normal outlet at the moment but I do have a spray bar for the external although there's not much oomph to it and i cant see it creating any more flow.

You don't necessarily need to create more flow, just direct the existing flow in different directions. By all means get hold of a powerhead (I've got one) but I just think its worth trying to see if you can achieve better results with what you've got first.

Iv just moved the internal outlet closer to the bottom of the tank, so I'll give it an hour an see if it make any difference. If not i will try the spray bar. x

I think its got to be worth a try first, especially as you have two filters. Good luck!

OK well that didnt work. How would you suggest I move the filters?
