OK. I have a 10gallon tank with 2 inexpensive live plants. I have gravel, and some driftwood I bought from the store(I washed it well). I have a filter that says 50gallons max on it(I plan to move my 10gallong to a 25 after it is cycled), and a 25watt heater(I have a 100watt too, maybe I should replace the 25watt one?).
For the ammonia amount, what about the calculator on the bottom of this page?

Does that work, or do I need to measure the amount needed myself, like you told me?

Oh, and my Nitrites are now off the charts, the colour is darker than 5.0ppm (good thing I removed my fish!), and ammonia is in between 0.50 and 1.0.
Temp is 80F.
