Hello,

I have an adult Ctenopoma acutirostre that needs a home. It's fully grown, completely weaned onto frozen foods (primarily bloodworms), and very healthy. I bought it around 10 years ago, but for the last few years has lived in a tank in an office in Central London. For various reasons, the fish in this tank are being changed, and this guy needs a new home. My tank at home isn't right for it (too many small fish!), hence this message.

For those that don't know this fish, it's an African climbing perch, sometimes called a leopard bushfish. This one is around 15 cm in length. They are predatory, but otherwise totally peaceful, even a little shy. Will do well with things like lace gouramis, angelfish, plecs, kribensis, and other medium sized fish too big to be swallowed whole. On the other hand, small tetras, guppies, and so on will simply be viewed as food.

I could simply take the fish into a store, but I'd like to pass it on to someone with experience and/or an interest in this type of fish. The office in question is centrally located and easy to get to, a few minutes from South Ken tube station.

Thanks!

Neale

I wish I could take it but I don't have the tank for it at the moment. Still, I wanted to reccomend these to anyone who does come across this thread and isn't 100% sure about getting it. They are beautiful fish and very interesting and would deffinately be an excellent choice for a semi-boisterous tank. It may be a good idea to post this in the buy/sell section if you haven't already though as many more people are likely to come across this over there.

I'd take it in, but I already have three and I'm in the us.

These are great fish that will do well in any tank large enough that has medium sized fish in it

Hello,

Depends to where. Somewhere close by a tube station might be OK. I don't drive (my bit for saving the environment) so places far from tube stations are a hassle to get to.

Cheers,

Neale

Just wondering if you would be able to deliver the fish? :)

I don't drive either hence the question. How about Richmond tube station?........Then its only a bus ride away for me and the kids to bring the fish home.Let me know. :)
