Crystal Clean Water...

just stumbled on this gain, quick update about the purigen. while ive still got little bits in my water, the actual water is much clearer. ive got 8 bits of wood in my tank, most of it never soaked, so my water has always been slightly brownish. however the water is definitely clearer and less coloured now. in turn this means the light is brighter in the water, so my whole tank has brightened up. good stuff, im impressed. i think i'll forever be stuck with debris in my water though.

nice I'm still using the carbon stuff seems to work for me

Moochy, sounds like you need some new/more filter floss in place.

Moochy13 - Sound's like you've got the same problem as me bud, i've load's of little particles about the same size as a pin head that keep's by passing my filter.

My purigen arrived yesterday morning, so i did a 50% water change put new filter floss in the top of my fluval an placed the purigen in the next compartment down. When my light's came on this afternoon, the water is looking more 'polished' an their seems's to be less particles floating around (although that's probably due to the water change/new filter floss).

Guess the only way to really conquer it is water changes an floss, is really annoying though i've been trying to crystal water for months lol. Be interesting though to see what the water condition will be like in a week's time with the purigen in...

When i put the purigen in, i put 2 brand new floss pads in. One in the second tray and one in the top tray of an ex1200. With the results mentioned above.
