Hello all.

About 5 days ago I planted 5 Cryptocoryne Wendtii in my 80litre aquarium. Since yesterday a number of the leaves on the plants are starting to turn yellow and die. Some of the stems on the leaves are rotting as well. can anyone tell me why this is?

Crypts do not like being moved, this is often called "crypt melt". It may pick up, keep an eye out for new growth. I woudl prune the dead and dying leaves off to give it more of a chance.

i have been removing the dead leaves like you say. I will just have to sit it out and see how they go.

Thanks for the help.

Just like ChrisP stated, prune the dead leaves and it should start to grow back. This has happened to me a few times and they always grew back. Usually, when I notice crypt melt I just prune everything off to avoid a mess when the leaves die off.
