Crucian Carp Tropical ?

These fish are wild fish but can be found in large ponds.
As far as i know they come from rivers in europe so dont know about china, but i suppose they must be there as thats where the common goldfish came from.
They arent tropical fish, they are temperate like goldfish.

nope, there member of the carp family (mirrors, commons, koi etc.) they live in cooler waters and like black angel said they live in ponds and small lakes....basically carp are like goldfish apart from patterns, scales + barbels....they look like common carp just on a smaller scale :fun:

Ok thanx for ur help but from wat i found they wer originaly from china before eroupe

And i read on another forum that goldfish r actualy tropical so i thourt i would find out

PM me the forum that said it.
Common, comet, and other single tailed fish are not suited to tropical tanks, as they need the seasonal changes to regulate themselves, so they know for example when its breeding time, winter etc. To keep a common in tropical water would be to quicken its life cycle and it would grow fast as well.
Some types of twin tailed fish prefer a tropical tank such as bubble eyes and celestials as these are weaker fish.
