The water looks a little foggy.. Almost like a green tint being caused by rotting plants...

Could be the quality of the pictures, looks like they were done on a camera phone.

No actually a nintendo ds, lol rreeeaaallly bad quality, 0,3 megapixels. It is the quality of the camera but the wc are fine, last of the angels died last night. My firemouths are going into season, they are flaring up and getting aannngry

got SOOOOOOOOOOOO many fish today!!!!!!!!! 3 silver dollars 2 golden saums, 6 red eye tetras and a male blue ram for my other tank

Trimacs? Thats all I can find under the name 3 spot cichlid - when you said 2 Gold Saums I thought you were in trouble but 2 Trimacs in 250 liter tank :/ That is not going to end well, you will most likely end up with just 1 Trimac in an otherwise empty tank.... incredibly aggressive fish.

Can you post pics to get an ID on them.

Wills

no no no it cant be a trimac or three spot cichlid or whatever you want to call it, one is stripy and one is spotty, here is a pic of the spotty one ( the banded one is just impossible to photograph ( oh just decided to say this, my friend is lending his male blue ram, it looks dazzling, and my 1st female ram has paired off!)

oh and they dont seem aggresive at all, there very small, almost half the size of my firemouths (fms are 2.5 inches now)

Find out what they are, do some research, and rehome them if they get too large or aggressive by popular opinion, you're not going to know if they're aggressive or not based on a 2.5 inch fish!

I've got a little male 2 inch convict in my tank with khuli loaches, black skirt tetras, and a firemouth, and he's behaving himself now, but I know for a fact that as he matures, he's gonna want to rip the other fish bit by bit.

(note, he's only in that tank to grow a bit before I introduce him to my female who is significantly larger.)

You gave me the name three spot cichlid :/ I posted in your other post but the one in the picture is a young Vieja cichlid - similar kettle of fish as the other fish mentioned recently in this thread.

They are a very personable fish which means they will recognise you and can be a great fish to keep but 250 liters is still not big enough for them.

I still dont understand why you were getting 2 gold saums (green terrors) in the first place, they would never work and you would just end up with 1 green terror in that tank as they are really aggressive.

Wills

Yes but someone told me it wasn't a gold saum, and he mentioned another cichlid and told me it would be fine. They do recognise me :) when will I have to take him back?

Kind of depends - if you want to keep them then do so :) if you can get a tank around the size of a Juwel Rio 400 for example then you should be able to keep them for life - unless they are particularly nasty.

Otherwise I would rehome them sooner than later as they do grow quite fast, similar rates to Oscars (1 inch a month).

Just to clear things up did you want a gold saum for your tank?

Wills

I deffinately would not like a gold saum, I would love to keep for life but my red eyes will get chomped (I think)

Cool I just got confused if you went to the shop for the gold saum or if the shop had just tried to get them in but I understand now :)

The redeyes are certainly risky with Viejas but are actually close to biotope correct but they would probably be a food source in the wild like Angels and Neons.

Wills

So is it a no?

The redeyes are in a shoal so there is a possibility but they might still grow (I RLY wanna keep em)
