I just got my cold cathode light that i ordered from ebay last week.
Needless to say i got the wrong kind. They are meant to be used for computers and i cannot get them to work any other way.

Does anyone know of an ebay seller that has the kind mentioned in the DIY section?

need more info! could you list just what you got with your tube. these things often come with a pc card to power them, via an inverter. that said i have seen then sold, as just the tube.

I think i fried my inverters, do they have to be used to power the tubes or can they be wired differently?

yes they do have to be used.

i had a load in me mini that i show seen the post that russel did and kinda took them all out me car and put them on me tanks and use a dimma with them

cheers dane

lol how did you manage that  . don't say you plunged it straight into a 240v socket  .

this happens a bit, especially when things are bought off the internet. if this came with no proper instructions on wiring. and was claimed as new, even off ebay. the seller is breaking the law. however if it is one of those Pc card base units they should be ok providing they give a wiring diagram.

I don't really know to be honest. I used a 9v transformer from an old video game system, when i plugged them in....bzzzz, and a little blue flash. Thats why i was thinking these were not meant to be used this way.

Oh well, i got a quality transformer today and have some more cold cathodes coming from ebay(different seller).
