Hey...i recently purchased a coconut in which i drank the juice and cut it in half...After i ate the flesh i rinsed it then boiled it in water for around 15mins...I then rinsed it again...Is their any further procedures that need to be taken to ensure safety for my fish????
Im looking at boiling it 1 more time tomorrow before i tie java moss to it and place it in the aquarium...Right now its emersed inside a bucket for overnight...Like driftwood, do coconut shells naturally increase acididty in the water???
Thanks for any replies...
P.S. after i boiled it and placed it emersed in the bucket, i still see some slight release of tannins...Will an overnight emersion and then another 20mins boil take care of that?

I didnt boil mine atall and its been fine

Cocunut shells will acidify the water slightly, but not as near as much as
bogwood, almost unoticeable.
